BJP has urged Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to immediately convene the monsoon session of the State Legislature to discuss on grim financial conditions of the state government and attempts made to weaken the Anti-Corruption Bureau to allegedly protect corrupt staff.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, BJP MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar said that the funds for all welfare schemes have been stopped and all kinds of payments from treasury department have been frozen which proves that the state’s financial conditions have worsened which need to discussed in the House to know the reasons for the present crisis.

“The welfare schemes are existing only on paper. New schemes are being announced every day. The funds for old schemes are being stopped. The result is that no welfare scheme actually reaches the beneficiaries. This is a grave situation which should be discussed in the House,” Prabhakar said.

Referring to issuance of new Pattadar passbooks, he said, “Over 10 lakh farmers are still waiting for passbooks. Even those which were issued are full of mistakes. Banks are denying crop loans to farmers on the pretext of mistakes in passbooks. Revenue staff are looting farmers to get corrections done. There is utter chaos prevailing in Revenue and Agriculture Departments on account of this shoddy work done during the purification of land records’ drive and distribution of Rythu Bandhu cheques.”
