The State government on Tuesday released close to Rs 1,000 crore to Aarogyasri to reduce the time taken to clear medical bills of patients covered under State-run Employee Health Scheme (EHS) for employees, pensioners and Journalists Health Scheme (JHS)

The State government issued an order releasing Rs 803 crore towards medical bills of EHS, JHS and Aarogyasri. Out of this amount, nearly Rs 503 crore was allotted for funds adjustment under Aarogyasri Health Insurance Scheme, Rs 100 crore for EHS (Pensioners), another Rs 150 crore for EHS (Employees) and Rs 50 crore towards funds for JHS.

In another order, the government released Rs 196 crore to Aarogyasri Healthcare Trust for meeting its monthly expenditures. According to health authorities, the government orders will go a long way in reducing the number of administrative steps in getting the money released.
